There are special floral spray paints to use for changing the color. They sell them at Michael’s, and I’m sure other craft stores carry them, too. Other kinds of fabric spray paints would likely work, also. If you have a choice, go for a pump-type spray rather the standard ‘spray can’ style – easier to control overspray. Read directions closely – some are hazardous to use in confined spaces.

Question by so there’s this girl…oh wait that’s me.: Great presents for a dad in a hospital?
Here’s the whole story(you don’t have to read this, but if you’re not sure what I mean then just skim it)
In february, my mom had to call the ambulance because we thought my father was having a heart attack. Turns out he had severe pneumonia. He left the hospital the next day, even though they really didn’t want to because there was another spot in his lungs. After a few tests and such, they’ve found a cancerous tumor in his lung. Now, he’s in the hospital again. They’re expecting until Sunday at the earliest for him to recover from his surgery, and he is looking okay but with a lot of pain and such.

I am planning on bringing him balloons(mylar, I did check the hospital’s policy on this, and no latex balloons are permitted)., and he’s not really a big fan of flowers because he’s more of a manly guy. I’m also making him a really big card(I folded up a large piece of colorful posterboard, and im decorating it still). I’m 14, and I’d also like to give him something else, preferrably something that either I made just because that’s more special, or something not too expensive that still shows a lot of thought went into it. Any ideas??

Oh, by the way, he can’t really eat anything other than approved foods yet and I’m not even sure what at all he’s supposed to eat, but he’s probably on some diet and I’m pretty sure his favorite food, Cheetos, aren’t included in it lol. And I really don’t want to cause issues or anything, and since he has lung cancer it could be a problem for him to eat bad foods like that.
Yeah, he’s at a really nice hospital in like a city, and he has a TV, dvd player, etc. in his room, and he really can’t use his laptop right now because he can’t hold it and such but we might bring it in for him anyway in case he improves.

I know when my dad was in the hospital, he missed his favorite foods (hospitals are not know for their good cooking). Make or bring something he really likes. What he will like best, though, is you being there.

I’ve decided to fix the first stanza.

Here me, muses of heaven’s blinding sight
that blights and plagues I may render aright
Life and goodness revive my sinking pen

now from my reverent mortal lips be sprung.
Mounted nymphs divine, speak, round the throne

bestow word gifts, from Him, upon me now

That’s much better, although I would be lost without your words and ideas to base it on. I was finding your long lines, lack of rhyme and excessive peroration oppressive in this piece. Good stuff bogged down in verbal cement.
